Optimizing Your Website for Search Engines

If you're looking to optimize your website for the search engines (a practice known as "SEO"), here's how to edit some of the basic SEO settings for your web pages.

Step 1: Select A Web Page

Website Web Pages

You can either use the tabs at the top, or just click the Web Pages icon on the Dashboard. If you don't see this icon, you need to ask your main website administrator to grant you access to edit web pages.

Edit Page

If you are looking to edit the website in general, select the "Edit" icon for the "Home" page. If you are looking to edit a specific web page, click the "Edit" link for that page.

Step 2: Edit Your SEO Settings

Settings

In the toolbar at the top, click the "Settings" button to bring up the webpage settings.

SEO Settings

Edit your SEO settings as needed. The "HTML Title" is the title that Google uses (along with other search engines) as the title of your web page, while the "META Description" is usually used for Google's description of your page. "META Keywords" is largely obsolete, but some smaller search engines sometimes still use them.
